  • 1. What does "Three Step Fitness" mean?

    Three Step Fitness demonstrates the three different stages of fitness level based on science. Step 1: Stability and Mobility Step 2: Movement Step 3: Load

    It is a fundamental philosophy of human physiology in physical training. Without a strong foundation, people will easily get injured and experience limits. The Three Step Fitness and Pilates method is effective and efficient to aid in all your fitness endeavors.

  • 2. What programs or services do you offer?

    We offer various types of personal training or small group classes. The following fitness and pilates sessions are available: Private, Group, and Tandem

    Below is a simplified list of services we are currently providing:

    • Body sculpting for weight loss program

    • Personal training for strengthening

    • Pilates for both pain management and fitness

    • Physiotherapy: ICBC and extended health insurance coverage

    • Active rehab: ICBC Motor vehicle accidents coverage rehab

  • 3. What is the difference between private and tandem sessions?

    Discover the ultimate fitness experience tailored to your needs with Three Step Fitness. We offer a wide variety of classes at flexible prices, ensuring that you find the perfect fit for your fitness journey.

    Clients may choose to take more personalized and individualized private sessions or explore our tandem program. The tandem program is a one-of-a-kind workout experience that allows you to sweat it out in a semi-private environment alongside the partner of your choice. Enjoy the support and motivation of a workout buddy while maximizing your results.

    In private sessions and small group classes, the focus will be pain prevention, health enhancement and weight loss. We also offer customized, supervised exercise programs, which includes health education and behavior modification coaching.

  • 4. Do you have any membership passes?

    Yes! We offer two different types of an unlimited group membership passes:

    1. $240/month with a one-year commitment

    2. $310 /month (with anytime cancelation option)

    With these passes, clients can enroll in as many group fitness and Pilates classes as they wish.

  • 5. What type of group classes do you offer?

    We currently have both pilates and fitness group classes. Fitness groups range from 4-6 clients per class and pilates groups range from 3-4 clients per class.

    Beginner pilates group classes

    • $30/session with the purchase of 12 sessions

    • $36 session with the purchase of 6 sessions

    Intensive pilates group classes and fitness group classes:

    • $41/session with the purchase of 12 sessions

    • $37/session with the purchase of 24 sessions

  • 6. Is there a drop in class option available?

    Yes. Once you open an account with us and enter your credit card info, clients can book drop-in classes online. Drop in classes are $45 each (Pilates and fitness group).

    Please note that package purchases receive a 5% discount and there is no credit card info registration.

  • 7. Is there a discount for new members?

    New members can get 10% discount for any package purchases upon introductory session and registration. The introductory session/initial assessment is highly recommended for everyone regardless of experience.

    During the initial assessment, we analyze your posture and elaborate on what may have caused the postural deviation whether it be a major or a minor problem. As it is very common to see even trained individuals not being familiar with the fundamental human movements and maximizing movement efficiency, we always begin with the introductory session for everyone who is new to our studio.

  • 8. What is the initial assessment?

    Prior to attending an individual or group session, we require an either 30-minute complimentary Introductory session or full 60-minute initial assessment and consultation appointment where we will do a postural analysis (static and kinetic), fitness level diagnosis, nutrition intervention (if desired), core activation and introduction to core stability and mobility, body composition analysis (if desired).

    Clients may also receive an introductory session if they wish, which will help determine goals for highly tailored sessions. The initial assessment fee is $75.

    This assessment is required for all classes.

  • 9. How can I apply for sessions at TSF with an ICBC insurance?

    At Three Step Fitness Pilates and Phyio Clinic, we have a direct billing system with ICBC. Therefore, all you have to do is provide us with your ICBC claim information using this link: https://www.threestepfitness.com/contact

    The claim information should include:

    • Legal name

    • Claim number

    • Date of Birth

    • Date of accident

    • Treatment history with ICBC

    • Have you ever done active rehab/physio sessions with this claim number?

    • Do you have a doctors note/referral addressing active rehab/physio including Pilates?

    • Is there a lawsuit involved in this case?

  • 10. What type of Pilates classes do you offer?

    1:1 Pilates 50 min

    • $69/session with the purchase of a 12-session package with a junior instructor

    • $97/session with the purchase of a 12-session package and $90/session with the purchase of a 24-session package with a senior instructor

    2:1 Pilates 50min

    • $55/session with the purchase of a 12-session package with a junior Instructor

    • $60/session with the purchase of a 24-session package with a Senior Instructor

  • 11. Will Pilates help with me losing weight?

    Pilates will not directly help you lose wight. However, it is a great tool for helping you regain bodily balance and stability, indirectly helping you with weight loss targeted fitness sessions and accelerating the progress to reach your weight loss goals. In other words, it would be best to integrate both high intensity fitness training and Pilates.

    Fitness group (4-6) (50 mins) - $45 drop in, 12 session $41/session, 24 sessions $37 per package

  • 13. I’m interested in both Pilates and weights (Fitness)!!

    Every practitioner and class at TSF is trained in both Pilates and Fitness (Resistance training)!

    The only distinction in the program is who will lead the class: junior or senior.

  • 14. What are the payment options for personal training sessions or classes?

    We have pre-authorized credit card payment plans for packages and drop-in payment for packages and classes.

    We can plan the split payments for each packages

  • 15. Do I have to make reservations for Pilates/fitness classes in advance?

    Due to limited class availability, we strongly encourage our members to book their classes in advance with one of our staff. Members can reserve regular, weekly classes to secure their spot. Cancellations can be made with a 48-hour notice without incurring a fee.

  • 16. Are there any designated parking stalls?

    Members and clients can park in front of the studio for up to one hour or in the back of the studio in stalls 15 and 18. Stalls 19,20,21 in the back of the studio are available only after 4pm.

    If those spots are full, you can also park in the parking lot 20 meters away from our studio beside the city parking lot. Please ask us for further instruction upon arrival.

  • 17. I have severe lower back pain and my doctor recommend me to do core exercise. I have tried doing these exercises by myself, but it still hurts. What should I do?

    When a specialist recommends exercise therapy to strengthen your core, it can often be a vague recommendation. However, we are experienced in guiding patients through this process in the safest and most effective way possible.

    We know how to start you off and will be there to guide you through each step of the process. Plus, there could be various reasons for spinal injury or pain, but the approach to finding a solution is generally the same. We cannot reverse the damages caused by degenerative disc or some accumulated physical stress events from the past, but we can work to restore the basic function of the soft tissues and adjacent muscles and joints that support the structure of the spinal movements step by step.

  • 18. Can I learn exercises in a physiotherapy session?

    Yes. Through exercise therapy, our physiotherapist will educate and guide you on how to do exercises based on biomechanics and physiology. Allowing you to move more efficiently and feel better after a workout.

    The following exercise therapy sessions are available:

    • Physiotherapy integrative Clinical Pilates

    • Physiotherapy integrative Active rehab session

    Exercise therapy sessions are designed to focus on the therapeutic aspect of the exercises through physical therapy sessions. Please let us know in which specific area or with what concerns you are seeking physical therapy for. Our Physiotherapist will need to assess and prescribe specific exercise programs for your needs.

    To clarify, exercise therapy sessions are not considered fitness program. If you are interested in continuing with fitness and Pilates, we are happy to provide you with more options, such as the unlimited year group pass!
